My name is Wu (Junxi) Joshua. I am an independent, emotionally stable, optimistic, and humorous individual who values family and enjoys fostering teamwork among my classmates. Influenced by my family, I developed a passion for philanthropy from an early age, while also showing a strong interest in economics, business, computers, AI, and 3D modeling. Since kindergarten, I have actively participated in volunteer work and fundraising for organizations such as VGH, BC Children’s Hospital, and the Liver Foundation alongside my parents. We have advocated for “no gifts on birthdays” and instead used my birthday as an opportunity to sell my paintings, ceramics, 3D-printed crafts, and self-grown flowers to raise funds for charity. During my primary school years in China, I led my classmates in fundraising activities, selling vegetables from the school garden, second-hand books, paintings, and handmade crafts to support the school’s foundation and assist underprivileged students. Recently, after returning to Vancouver, I took on the role of a junior auctioneer for the “Restyle” event organized by the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, contributing to efforts to provide shoes for children in need. I am honored that my efforts have not only been recognized by the Children’s Hospital with a certificate of appreciation but also received acknowledgment from the federal government through the Federal Certificate.
